Binding the IT Culture

 

IT is a service sub-group in an organization. It is a center of strategic weapon alongside the enterprise endeavor to process improvement.  It is crucial that one in the management or one spearheading the IT group, must understand the core values that must chain the organization.

  • Communication - a very critical culture that each individual in the IT organization must master in order to successfully create and deliver a software product on time, there must be constant and thorough communication between members of the development team and the stake holders.
  • Feedback - customer involvement and feedbacks are essential for customer satisfaction. Not only it brings out pride and validation to work but helps improve output. 
  • Simplicity - XP culture stresses the need to keep things as simple as possible while meeting the requirements laid out for the project. It is when things are simple that users understand and would be willing to invest effort on improvements. Building small programmable products is as important as using a smart mobile phone with almost everything in it so should the software products of today and the future.
  • Courage - Individuals in the IT group must have the courage and confidence to bring change and produce quality results. Having to come-up with the documentation of everything you'd be doing is an evidence of courage that fortifies competence of work.
